I work with a highly coloured modeling material called Polymer Clay (also known as Fimo). I am completely self taught and have almost 20 years experience of using this most versatile medium. When using the clay and you have the desired shape that you need, it is then ‘baked’ in an ordinary home oven to permanently harden it. All the colours can be mixed with one another to make an infinite colour palette, just like you can with paints. All manner of items can be made: beads, jewellery, decorative items, cards, figures, pictures, the list is endless!!. • I run Fimo Workshops in Primary Schools, Secondary Schools, and Sure Start Centres. Sometimes one class, other times the whole school, and occasionally the staff and parents too. I have also provided workshops in a secondary school for young people with special learning needs. After school and holiday clubs are also catered for. Each workshop is tailor made to suit the exact requirement of the school and its children. • Talks, Demonstrations and Workshops to a wide range of ladies groups. Workshops for the uniformed organisations, such as Brownies, Girl Guides, Boys Brigade, etc • Places where I have previously run workshops: Haigh Country Park in Wigan - children The Colour Museum in Bradford - children Withington Hospital, Mental Health Department – adults with learning needs. Toll House Beaders – Bead Making - adults Embroiders Guild – Advanced Polymer Clay techniques - adults Ribble Stitchers – Advanced Polymer clay techniques - adults Lancashire Wildlife Trust – Outdoor Nature - children • I am employed on a free lance basis by the company Staedtler. I go into craft retail outlets and demonstrate their product to the general public. Have worked at Hobbycraft, Craft World, WHSmiths, Craft Central, and Garden centres. • I also provide customers with their own piece of bespoke artwork, which is tailor made to their own particular needs. Please get in touch for details. • Children’s Birthday Parties • Produce a wide range of gifts, jewellery and cards for Craft Fairs/School Fetes/ Christmas Bazaars. • Free-lance work for a Life Coaching company in Stockport, making Important-To-Me pictures for their clients. • Digital Blue Stop Frame Animation Workshops. I have run several stop frame animation workshops using these cameras. • I am also a member of The British Polymer Clay Guild and the Wigan Artists Network. I have attended several courses run by Arts and Media Training, focusing on How to Thrive in the Creative Industries and How to run Workshops for the Community.
